Phil Masek is an expat American citizen, with dual French and American citizenship, born in Nebraska and raised in Los Angeles in a family of eight children. Phil has been enjoying living in Reims for the past 35+ years and is the proud father of two daughters both university students. Phil managed a financing service company to expat American military personnel worldwide from France for over 30 years.
His youngest is beginning medical school in France, his eldest daughter is an international European business school student. When she moved to Italy at age 19 for a foreign program, she was challenged with moving to a (not so distant) foreign country with the inherent problems of logistics (housing, getting around) and language. Fortunately, a local contact speaking both French and English was found who assisted her in the process. Being bilingual French and English and familiar with both the American and French cultures, Phil decided to create Reims Ready for expat English speaking students in Reims in order to make this process a pleasant and easy one.
Reims Ready's mission is to help provide foreign students a proper environment for studying and learning French, as well as to reassure parents several thousand miles away. Reims Ready aims to set quality standards helping students find the right apartments in the right places and help deal with the problems of arriving in a foreign country, to make this unique experience a positive one.
